Enduring Tasks

Any task can be marked as “enduring.” This will cause the task to remain in your Quest Log even after it’s been completed, so that you may complete it again in the future. Enduring tasks retain all of the same settings (skills, attributes, difficulty, etc.) each time they are completed.

For example, let’s return to the quest “Purge the Monsters of Uncleanliness from the Living Areas” (aka, “Clean the House”). This quest might contain several tasks, like vacuuming, taking out the trash, cleaning the kitchen, washing your sheets, &etc. These tasks probably need to be done on a somewhat regular basis: marking them as enduring will keep them active in your quest log, so you can tackle them again when the need arises.

Adventurer's Tip #58

Enduring tasks don’t need to be things you do every day; they can also just be things you want to remind yourself to do on a regular basis. Here are a few more examples of tasks you might want to mark as enduring:

  • flossing
  • writing a paragraph
  • stretching
  • reading for thirty minutes
  • taking your pills
  • cooking dinner
  • practicing your slight of hand
  • not letting the establishment grind you down
